Wedding Documentation/Documentary wedding in terms of photography is an art of story telling by capturing every single genuine candid moments in a wedding through pictures. It is another version of photojournalism that focuses to cover weddings and related functions. The perk of a documentary wedding is that it never goes out of trend/fashion since its a globally adapted photo story telling method.
The best thing about documentary wedding photography is that we are capturing the real stories/moments happening on the day, trends may come and go but real genuine moments and stories of the day will never bore the featured folks instead those remains as treasured memories.
A wedding story is not just about the bride and groom its more about what all happened on the day. The focus should not only be on the bride/groom or their immediate fam and friends instead we must be ready to capture everyone and everything around. Sometimes each person or even a small stuff around can tell thousand stories.
When we talk about candid photography many have their own definitions and concepts, most of the photographers try to make the photos look like candid and others just click randomly with out making the subjects pose. In my view candid photography or candid photographs are not only just the ones that are clicked without making our subjects pose instead according to me candid photography have a wider meaning to itself the "NEVER EVER REPEAT" concept... I and my entire crew work on this concept of "NEVER EVER REPEAT". To me real candids are those moments which are captured randomly without making subjects pose but more than that capturing moments in such a way so neither any other photographer can recreate such a moment nor does the subjects can recreate the same again.
Each moment and each ritual during any function is unique in its own way, we try to capture those uniqueness without interrupting and without making any distractions or disturbances.
I have noticed many photographers and cinematographers asking clients to act and repeat the rituals again for a perfect shot, you might get a perfect shot but those clicks do not capture the actual moment instead it creates a copy of drama that they make the subjects do. Repeating the rituals or making subjects posing like tying the sacred knot or acting like exchanging the vows and rings just because your photographer or cinematographer couldn't capture it during the actual moment is too insane according to me.
One basic question is why don't you drop off your rates to acquire more events when there is so much competition in the same field, the answer is simple we are not here for a race or competition our motto is to provide the best we can, for that we can't compromise on the expertise staff we have neither do we compromise on the quality of products we provide you with.
The next one is about my style of colour / colour grading, How acquired I it? Practice.. Practice makes man perfect, another important factor is to observe and study both your equipment (camera, lens, software, use) as well as the moment / object or view you shoot, try to bring in as much as real colors you see with your eyes. One important thing we must remember is none of our equipment can identify the original colour, for them its all just piece of data, its we who can identify the real colour of an object, never try to give in a fake colour grade to beautify your work it spoils the originality of the entire moment or object. So try to keep it real.
